FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If flying to Ireland it is best to arrive at Shannon airport (SNN). We can arrange to pick you up from this airport only. You don’t have to fly to get a pick-up from this airport. We will coordinate transportation for you from the airport to the retreat center. This is an additional cost as not all guests will require transport. We often coordinate shared rides among guests landing around the same time, so that the transportation fee decreases per person. In the RESERVATIONS section you can insert your flights.
If driving the exact address is:
Cliffs of Moher Retreat, Moher Lodge, Kinielty, Liscannor, Co. Clare.
We are 7kms from Lahinch driving straight out on the road to the Cliffs of Moher. As you enter Lahinch follow the signs for the Cliffs of Moher and Liscannor (it’s a right turn before you come into the main street of the village).
Drive along that road, with the golf course on your left. After 4 kms you will reach Liscannor Village. Continue driving through Liscannor Village. After another 3kms turn left, just before The Rock Shop (which is on the right side of the road). After 200 metres you will reach a crossroads, turn right. Continue up the road for approximately 750metres (it’s a tiny road!), we are the third property on the left, you will drive up a long driveway and we will be waiting for you there.
Want to take a taxi?
If you wish you can catch a taxi from the airport directly to the Retreat for approximately €60 – €80. We recommend contacting Philip O’Dwyer, who offers competitive rates from Shannon to the Retreat compared to picking up a taxi at the airport. Phillip can accommodate individuals and groups. To pre-arrange transfers please contact Philip directly at:
Dublin Coach has a great service from Dublin (airport or city centre) to Ennis. Please visit their website for up to date time tables and costs: http://www.dublincoach.ie/

Depending on the retreat the food may be vegetarian or ‘fishetarian” or omnivor but we will make sure to provide options for vegetarians and other dietary restrictions that can sometimes be challenging when traveling. Just be sure to tell us before hand. The Cliffs of Moher Retreat is a vegetarian fitness retreat. Donegal is an omnivore retreat. We can cater for allergies but preferences based on fad diets that you may be on may not be catered for. The food we serve is active food for active people on active holidays.
Big time! Some would consider our fitness holidays to be singles fitness holidays as there will be single people there as well as couples and friends. These are fitness and wellness retreats for all. If you want to book shared accommodations, we work hard to pair you with the right people.
We generally have people form mid-20s to early 60s. There are challenging activities and exercises so you need to be aware of your limits. However, nothing will be too extreme. This is a fitness and wellness retreat where there will be time for ‘free space” or time to yourself to relax. If you don’t want to do an activity you don’t have to. This is your fitness break; your wellness holiday.
We prefer to have a good balance of both men and women, however, some retreats end up with more women than men or even just women. We provide exercises and activities that will challenge both genders equally and be enjoyable for all.
Let’s face it, Ireland has weather that can baffle even we who have lived in Ireland all our lives. It can be high 20s (celsius) in Summer or mid-teens, or it could be Mid-20s at the end of October. They say there is no bad weather only badly chosen clothing. This is a fitness retreat that will take place indoors and outdoors. It is a healthy holiday that takes place on land and sea.
- Bring your workout gear of course
- Bring hiking gear (hiking boots and hiking shoes, water proofs, etc)
- Swimming gear
- Sunblock (for the summer retreats)
- Rain wear
For women who want to try something different we have a Brazilian manufactured range of fitness gear at www.biabrazil.ie, which you can view online and we can bring the items to the retreat for you to try (one size fits 6-12/14) with no pressure to buy.
